You can use simple steps to install a keylogger on someone’s Windows computer. The steps can vary from software to software so proceed accordingly.

- Install the Keylogger: Install the software on the target PC and enter your email for remote monitoring.

1. FlexiSPY
FlexiSPY is no doubt, the best keylog software for Windows to keep an eye on the Android cell phone of your loved ones.
And the Windows software of FlexiSPY works decently as well. Just like its phone app on Windows PC, FlexiSPY works in the hidden mode.
After going to the Key Logs section, you will notice that the keystrokes are arranged app-wise. All the software like WhatsApp, Chrome, MS Word, or wherever a keystroke is made will appear on the screen.
To check all the keystrokes from a particular software, let’s say Chrome, you need to click on it. With each keystroke, the date and time stamp was also available.
I have tested the FlexiSPY app keylogger for Windows on different apps and browsers and it was able to stand up to my expectations. I was able to get all the keystrokes and the updates were quick.
FlexiSPY also has a feature that can be used to take remote screenshots. But unfortunately for me, the feature didn’t work as it should have. I only got the screenshots of the desktop screen and lock screen. No screenshot was available while the software was in use.

You might not have heard about MoniVisor before, but if you are even a little bit into spy apps and software, then you must have heard about KidsGuard Pro.
MoniVisor is what you can say, a Windows version of KidsGuard Pro.
Once you switch to the Keylogger section of MoniVisor, the list of all the apps where some keystroke was made will appear on the left side. If you click on any of the apps, all the keystrokes from that app will appear on the right side.
With each keystroke, you can see the date and time stamp available. So if you are curious to know, at what time your spouse is planning a night out, you can trust MoniVisor. Plus, this PC spy keylogger works in hidden mode, so there’s nothing to worry about.
While using MoniVisor, the software worked up to my expectations and I had no issue with it. I didn’t miss any of the keystrokes and the updates for new keystrokes were quick.
Now suppose you want to know who is the other person with whom the night out plan is made. For that, you can take the help of the Capture Screenshots option.
Once you activate this feature, you will get quick screenshots from the target PC, while your spouse is chatting and making the plans, or while doing any other activity.
Sometimes, you might be curious to know if it’s a date or a birthday, where your teen is so eager to go. You can try to find a relevant message using the search option in Keylogger.
Try to search for words like date, dating, let’s meet, and so on. All the messages where such a term is used will appear on the screen. However, the search bar of MoniVisor is case-sensitive. So make sure to try with both upper case and lower case letters.
3. MoniMaster PCSntry
MoniMaster PCSntry for Windows is a tool that lets you secretly track what someone is doing on their Windows computer. It records everything they type, including passwords, messages, and anything else they type into apps.

On top of tracking keystrokes, it may also record which websites are visited and which apps are used. The setup is fairly simple, and it’s easy to view the logs through an online account.

4. Hoverwatch
Hoverwatch does not have a dedicated keylogger function like you would see on other apps mentioned above. Then why is it on the list, you may ask? Well, it does not have a keystroke logger but it can still track every keystroke on the target computer using screenshots.
Hoverwatch randomly takes screenshots at regular intervals whenever the target person is browsing the internet, texting someone over Skype, watching videos, etc.
In my test, I noticed that the screenshot quality produced by Hoverwatch is very clear which makes reading everything off the screen very easy. Also, it won’t take more than 5 minutes to sync the newly captured photos to your dashboard.
Overall, it might not be as effective as other Windows keyloggers but if you want a keylogger with screenshots then you have no better option. You can learn more about it in my Hoverwatch app review.
5. Spyrix
Are you looking for a free keylogger for PC? If yes, then Spyrix is what you are looking for. Just like other keyloggers for Windows on this list, you have to install this software on the target computer. I reviewed Spyrix some time back on this site. While testing the app, I noticed that it records every keystroke pressed on the target device within seconds. Yes, it’s that quick.
Spyrix shows a timestamp with each recorded keystroke and also mentions its source i.e. on which app the keystroke was made. It is quite helpful in knowing what word was typed on which app and at what time.
Apart from telling what words are typed on the keyboard, it also gives you an insight into their clipboard. This means you can see what text they have copied from somewhere.
The drawback of the free version of this spy PC keylogger is that it can’t be hidden on the target computer until or unless you pay for their premium plan.
6. Actual Keylogger
Actual Keylogger is a versatile keylogger for PC, it is suitable for both personal and business applications. It offers comprehensive computer activity monitoring. It includes the following features: keystroke logger, application usage, clipboard content, and printing history. The Total Logger keylogger offers a range of powerful features suitable for users of all levels of expertise. Notably, it captures comprehensive keyboard input, including sentences and individual characters, with the help of which it can unveil essential data such as usernames and passwords in real time.
This user-friendly PC keylogger provides flexible report delivery options similar to the Actual Keylogger. You can access the keystroke report through secure methods like FTP accounts or shared local network folders. Overall, Total Keylogger excels in simplifying online monitoring, so you can have a look at it.
Final Verdict
All the apps have the guts to rank as the top keylogger software for Windows PC and laptops. The accuracy and data sync speed of all software was almost equal, the setup process was also quite easy. Overall, it’s hard to say which app should top.
When it comes to cons, all software have some drawbacks as well. Like pcTattletale showed all keylogger results with other activities, which created a mishmash. Coming to MoniVisor, anti-virus was creating a problem.
And talking about FlexiSPY, the keystroke tracking with screenshots feature was a failure. Similarly, Spyrix can be used for free but can’t be hidden on the target device and Hoverwatch does not have a dedicated keylogger feature in itself.
So, it’s up to you which app you like the most, and based on that, you need to decide as to which app you need.
