You can block a restricted call on your phone using its built-in call blocking feature. Almost every phone has this feature be it Android or iPhone. Let’s talk about it in more detail.
Block Restricted Calls On Android
To block a private call on Android whose number is not visible to you, follow these steps.
- Go to the phone dialer app of your Android phone. From there tap on the three dots icon and select the Settings option.
- Next, choose the option Blocked numbers.
- On the next screen toggle on the slider next to Unkown.
With this, the restricted numbers will be blocked on your Android phone. You will still receive phone calls from genuine callers that are not saved in your contact list.

Block “No Caller ID” Calls On iPhone
If you own an iPhone and looking to block restricted calls on it then you can do it in just a few steps.
- Go to Settings > Focus and then select the Do Not Disturb option.
- Now enable the Do Not Disturb option by toggling on the button next to it. After that, tap on People under Allowed Notifications.
- Next, choose the Calls From option to filter out people who you do not want to block.
- Finally, choose the option All Contacts.
This will block all other phone calls that come from people apart from the ones saved in your contact.

The app isn’t free, you have to purchase its plan if you want to block restricted phone calls. In the free version of the app, you can only identify spam phone calls but cannot block them. If you really want to get rid of restricted calls then I recommend you go for their premium plan, it’s totally worth it.
Take Help Of The Service Provider
If you can’t block a private call yourself you might want to talk to your service provider for some help. Service providers like Verizon, AT&T, and others can help you block restricted calls. For example, you can block a restricted call on Verizon by installing their special app on your phone. Using the app you can block all the restricted calls easily.
